That is great. We strive to combat the consumer frenzy at this time of year- my son's birthday is right in the middle of Hanukkah this year, and it is really important to remember what giving really means. Thanks.

This site educates about the first Thanksgiving. It might be fun to share this with your kids.

Two parents were refused health care benefits for their children, one was listed as too fat and the other was too thin. Like your child this one did not fit into the perfect growth chart. Kudos to you for seeking another opinion. I would also encourage moms to be to interview potential doctors by phone, visit their office or get referrals from friends. Having a doctor picked out could potentially leave you feeling more secure on your first days home if any emergencys came up.

My company, Belly Guru has a specialization in promoting just what Lisa encourages. My Mama Guru's , as I call them, are encouraged to take time to be themselves, within themselves from the moment they step into my prenatal classes right through my post natal classes. It takes practice to learn how to come back to your own needs after hours, days or even weeks straight of dealing with other's needs first. Just getting to class can be your yoga or "union with yourself" and your discipline. With little time to get a lot done, yoga is a one stop shop. As one of my clients told me, "it is cheaper and more helpful to yoga train with you than paying the psychologist, the pharmacist, the personal trainer and the physical therapist!"

As I was told by my teacher's Guru, Yoga is an exercise of the mind, disguised as an exercise of the body" With the right mindset, anything is possible, I believe because I have lived it. I took myself out of depression and controlled anxiety through yoga, I rehabilitated a herniated disc through yoga and i birthed my last son in record time unaware I was even in labor until the last few hours, I believe, due to my yoga . So, when a mom feels balanced and sure of her inner self, all the other pieces like her body image, her attitude, her tolerance point and her overall energy and health just fall into place. A mother's health is a family's health. Yoga is a wonderful means of finding one's strengths and weaknesses on several levels which is key to establishing boundaries and is the path to a fufilled and healthy experience as mom.
