So a few weekends ago we installed it and have been using it ever since with our 2 1/2 year old. The seat is designed for children rear facing from 5 to 40 pounds and forward facing up to 70 pounds which makes a great option because it'll grow with your baby and you won't need to buy two separate seats.

 

First thing we noticed is how much sturdier it felt than our other car seat. The side padding is thicker too and it was fairly easy to install. My toddler really enjoys the confort pads on the straps and the cushiony head rest pillow. It also feels more securely in place in its attachment than our other car seat.

 

Some of the other safety features that are worth highlighting about the Marathon 70 are:

 

Safecell technology: these safecells are designed to compress in a crash, significantly lowering the center of gravity and counteracting the forward rotation of the child seat which normally propels child toward the front seat

Integrated Steel Bars: help strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce forward flexing of the child seat during a crash

Side Impact Protection: comprised of deep side walls lined with energy-absorbing EPP foam distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion, and contains the head, neck and body

Quick-adjust harness: repositions the harness shoulder height without disassembling the harness straps
