OLGUITAS SANDALS

The idea for Olguitas came from an empowered mommy, Luciana Valente's desire to be able to stay home with her baby boy while supplementing her family's income. Since then, she has been working tirelessly to build awareness of these cute and trendy sandals that are made in Argentina and she was even kind enough to send me a sample pair for me to wear!

I was curious to try them especially over the weekend while playing with my three little ones and running errands. The weather is warming up where I live and so I welcomed a respite from socks and covered shoes for a carefree toe exposing sandal. And I was delighted with the experience of wearing my first pair of Olguitas!

They were very comfortable and light weight. Honestly, I couldn't feel them on and the stretchy, spandex and cotton fabric piece that extends in between your big toe was not noticeable at all. I also like this same fabric that goes around your ankle especially because it keeps your ankles warm and comfortable like a pair of cozy socks. 

I liked wearing them so that the fabric on the ankle was scrunched low (like mini leg warmers) but you can wear them any way you like (stretched out like in the photo I took above). The sole is made of rubber and is thick enough that you feel like your foot is supported and cushioned well. And the sizing was perfect! Being 5ft 8, I usually wear between a size 9 1/2 and 10 shoe, and the Olguitas Size 10 fit like a charm!

I tried on a pair in black, but they also come in chocolate. I liked the packaging too. They come with an eco-friendly mesh carrying bag that you can use to store your sandals or to hold anything else you like!
