About Natalie Curry
My name is Natalie and I am 24 years old.I was born with a very rare blood disorder called Fanconi Anemia. My only chance for survival was a bone marrow transplant. In an effort to save my life my parents conceived my younger sisters. My sister Audrey was born completely healthy, but was not a match. My youngest sister Emily was also completely healthy but best of all she was a perfect HLA match! My parents had beat all the odds! At the time of Emily's birth my parents decided to collect and freeze her umbilical cord and placenta blood to save it for my future transplant. When I was four years old I had a very successful cord blood / bone marrow transplant. I am very lucky to be alive and am very blessed to have such a loving family! I am currently living in NYC and actively pursuing all of my dreams. I have made it my mission in life to raise awareness for cord blood preservation because I believe everyone deserves a fighting chance at life. I am working on writing my first book now about my families miracles and how Cord blood saved my life! You can learn more about my story at: http://www.nataliecurry.com
